Physics Based Digital Twin
Leveraging a Century of Compressor Design Expertise
In collaboration with a world-leading compressor OEM, IMBU has pioneered industry-leading physics-based digital twin analytics.
The physics-based digital twin simulates a pV curve, which is also measured by the SEM. Using advanced mathematical algorithms, the simulation is meticulously compared to the actual measurements. This matching process accurately identifies and quantifies any deviations present. As a result, the system can effectively pinpoint issues such as valve leakages in both suction and discharge valves for each compressor chamber.
Historical Twin
Pro-active Condition Analysis
The historical twin operates by constructing nominal models of waveform data captured by sensors such as accelerometers, pressure sensors, and proximity probes, all of which are ‘crankshaft referenced.’ Newly acquired waveforms are meticulously compared against existing models using advanced correlation algorithms. Whenever new measurements deviate significantly from the expected confidence intervals, the historical twin promptly triggers notifications, alerting operators of potential issues. IMBU has co-authored an article published at the GMRC conference in 2021, providing in-depth insights into the historical twin’s functionality. To learn more, you can download the article below.
Cybersecurity Reinforced
Cybersecurity Reinforced. SEM's Air-Gap Protection
The SEM employs an Air-Gap as a critical element of its cybersecurity architecture, ensuring robust protection against external threats. This Air-Gap serves as a physical barrier, completely isolating the SEM from customer networks such as DCS, SCADA, or other customer systems. By maintaining this separation, the SEM entirely eliminates the risk of unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.
Streamlined Installation
SEM's Hazardous Area Advantage
SEM boasts a fully self-contained system, housed within a single pole-mounted EXd enclosure. It can be seamlessly installed within hazardous areas without the need for any components to be placed in safe zones. This unique design not only simplifies and expedites installation but also eliminates the necessity for costly long cable runs. In contrast, competing systems often require part of the setup to be situated in safe areas, resulting in significant cost escalations. By circumventing these challenges, SEM offers a streamlined installation process and substantially reduces the total cost of ownership.
Global Endorsement
SEM's Trusted Reputation in Oil and Gas
SEM is trusted by major oil and gas companies globally, underscoring its reliability and effectiveness in critical industrial applications. References validating SEM’s performance and impact are readily available upon request, providing assurance of its proven track record and industry recognition.
Sensors
SEM utilizes three types of sensors: ICP/IEPE accelerometers, 4-20mA 2-wire pressure sensors and proximity probes. IMBU provides a comprehensive scope, including all necessary installation consumables. Additionally, we are equipped to accommodate the reuse of sensors already present onsite, a common scenario, especially with rod-drop probes.
Empowering OEMs
SEM Web Portal for Distributor Support
The SEM web portal is designed with a three-tier hierarchy, catering to OEMs supporting their distributors, who in turn assist end-users. Additionally, end-users can be sorted by region for streamlined management. In order to make this a one-stop portal for the end-user, the web portal also supports end-users by providing all relevant documentation for the compressor they are examining. IMBU is capable of supporting digitalization efforts to make critical documentation, even older paper records, available online.
Dimensions
SEM comes with a mounting-pole making it an extremely easy installation. When installed besides the compressor-set, wire-runs can be kept short. To avoid direct sun-impact, SEM can be ordered with an optional sun-shade.
